Lacoste is the creation of a tennis prodigy, René Lacoste, in the 1930s. His love for the sport pushed the tennis player to aim bigger and further by launching its own brand. The crocodile, symbol of the brand, refers to its nickname and quickly seduces the whole world. Shortly after its creation, Lacoste begins to export internationally, offering quality clothing and increasingly innovative ranges.
In 1968, Lacoste launches its first fragrance in collaboration with French fashion designer and perfumer Jean Patou. In 1971, Lacoste becomes the official sponsor of Roland-Garros. The brand is increasing collaborations to extend its ranges and offer new products, including accessories such as glasses and belts, leather goods with bags, as well as its first shoes.
